Trevor Jorgensen and his wife Colleen run 1,200 beef cattle at Delungra in NSW. Although they know a thing or two about finishing cattle, Trevor has started taking some of the guesswork out of his job by adding the Beefspecs Calculator to his range of decision-making tools.
Beefspecs is a simple tool used to predict carcase weight and P8 or rump fat thickness in beef cattle by using a range of animal, production and management inputs, which include starting liveweight, P8 fat depth and frame score, and information about feed type, intended HGP use and the intended date to sell.
