dead rappers list and other RHH questions?
February 21st, 2010 | by admin |yes i am sure its always asked. gimme some dead rappers that ppl often forget. here are some, i think its all, including beatboxers, djs and producers: soulja slim, freeky tah, mister magic, cowboy, buffy, subroc, dj am, big l, bloodshed, odb, dolla, dilla, biggie, pac, stretch, biggy smallz (see next part of question), eazy, jam master jay, camu tao, aaliyah, left eye (included those two for good measure), killa black, pimp c, pun, yaki kadafi, johnny j, dj screw, hawk, roc raida, fat pat, proof, bugz, big moe, scott la rock, mac dre, so on…… rank the ones you can think of if you want… listen to this to get you thinking: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjWfRpfpXJQ
in the song god bless the dead, i dont think pac is dissing biggie. (link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=am3TuASrd_k) i dont think its directed at the notorious big at all. i heard its to some other guy named biggy smallz who died in 1991(?). he was a west coast rapper and i saw a couple of his vinyls online (discogs i think, great website, had an album called cruisin). i dont really care to listen to his stuff, i just wanna be sure that pac was rapping about him. more proof is that stretch was on it and he was not alive when there was beef. he died in 1995. beef was in 1996. biggie and pac were sharing the stage in 1995 (freestyle with big daddy kane, shyheim, scoob lover). plus stretch doesnt say it as if hes the one who killed him: "hearin that THEY did it out of fear dont amaze me/ but its my dog so now im cold goin crazy/" anyone else hear that possibility? eminem didnt get it tho: "im sicker than a 2pac dedication to biggie/"
are there any songs you like for their message or lyricism (or more shallowly, their beat/instrumental) but do not respect/at all agree with what they are endorsing? for example ever heard of askari x? his song city life (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fERGtz4n0U) is amazingly lyrical and a great storytelling rap with 6 verses but i dont agree with him. he is a part of/influenced by NOI and farrakhans teachings. i dont wanna get into that now, let me just say that farrakhan and elijah muhammad make sense to the average struggling black man but are essentially racist to everyone else. so i dont agree with the message itself but because the message is there and is raw (along the lines of public enemy, bob marley dead prez, nwa) i can bump it. anyone else listen to songs they feel this way about?
if you consider yourself a reg, how long have you been on Y!A (RHH) to get there? are you a reg in other sections, or of Y!A as a whole?
anyone familiar with dj funktual from youtube? great person to sub if youre into samples used for hh beats. knows all of it. heres one of his videos from his series: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKaRCtMOBpA
funky drummer has been sampled up and down, from all parts of it…
what beat is used for the song scary movies by eminem, featuring royce da 5 9? i think its a wu tang beat, because i may have heard it on some song that inspectah deck rapped on. im not sure tho. its a great beat with dope lyrics on top. link to scary movies, eminem feat royce: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iycAfp-hIPY
this was a rambling, as the first two answer pointed out. when i have time i will break it into separate questions. …it seems it is always me who gets in my way…
I hope you put this much effort in your school work

- You named all the good ones…
- I didn’t know that, but I guess it’s kinda interesting. We’ll never know for sure though.
- Yeah, "They Schools" by Dead Prez. It’s a good song, but some of their views are a little too extreme and a I don’t completely agree with them (Although they do make a few good points). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xf1QcHs4vGY
- Yes, only because I’m on here almost daily (Nothing to be proud off btw). About a year now. I’ve had three different accounts.
- No
- No idea…
